Sometimes the next step is clear. Getting there is the hard part.

For individuals working toward recovery, stability, employment, housing, or reentry, a seemingly small obstacle can quickly become a major roadblock. Remove the Barrier gives THRIVE the flexibility to help address practical needs that can stand between someone and their next step forward.

That may mean helping someone obtain an ID or birth certificate so they can apply for a job, secure housing, or access services. It could mean transportation to treatment, healthcare, employment, court obligations, or other important appointments. At other times, support may help with costs connected to a housing application, employment requirement, treatment access, or another immediate need that is preventing someone from moving forward.

These aren't always large expenses, but their impact can be significant. When someone is already working to rebuild stability, one missing document, one transportation issue, or one unexpected cost can delay progress and create another hurdle to overcome.

Our peers work directly with individuals to identify needs, navigate available resources, and connect them with existing community supports whenever possible. But not every need has an available resource, and not every situation can wait.
