I'm proud to support Ronald McDonald House Louisville during Give for Good because I believe every family deserves to stay together while their child receives the medical care they need just like our family was able to do. 

When a child is hospitalized, families shouldn't have to worry about where they'll sleep, how they'll afford meals, or how they'll stay close to their child. Ronald McDonald House Louisville helps remove those burdens by providing a home away from home, meals, comfort, and a supportive community—all at no cost to the families they serve.

Every day, they help families focus on what matters most: their child's healing.

When our Chloe suffered catastrophic injuries in a car wreck, my husband, her 2 brothers and myself were plunged into the darkest time we had ever experienced as a family. Our only thoughts were for Chloe as she lay in a critical state in ICU Trauma at UofL Health Hospital. A social worker there told us we could apply for a room at the Ronald McDonald House Louisville that was only about 3 blocks away. Because of the house availability, her brothers, her father and I were all able to get much needed rest daily while still having someone at the hospital with Chloe during her ever changing critical state. Our entire focus could  be on our girl . We were able to stay nourished to have the mental capacity to deal with helping her.  We would end up utilizing Ronald McDonald House Louisville for almost a year and I was simply AMAZED at the care all the staff members and volunteers pored into  this wonderful place. Many, many families went through the doors of the house. It was a safe space for decompressing, gathering thoughts, resting, and reviving for another day with a child who has medical needs.
