A Better Future for our Public Parks is Here!

Louisville is investing in public parks more than ever—and that progress is proof that advocacy works. From new and improved playgrounds to community centers, water play, golf access, neighborhood parks, and safer walking and biking connections, residents are seeing what happens when clear needs meet organized community support.

The Parks Alliance's Parks For All research identified 31 high-priority parks with urgent investment needs, including parks that had seen zero capital investment in 20 years. Through partnership with Louisville Parks & Recreation and community organizations, that list has been narrowed to 16 priority parks. 

That is real progress—but the work is not finished. Progress must continue! Sixteen priority parks still need focused investment, and the Parks Alliance of Louisville is working to make sure park improvements are equitable, data-informed, and centered on community priorities.
