Fuel the Future of Music

I grew up as a violist in Shelby County at a time when string instruments were introduced in elementary schools, and the high school had a full symphonic orchestra. I was also a member of the Louisville Youth Orchestra, which expanded my exposure to music and artists, and changed the trajectory of my musical life. I'm honored to now be serving as President of the LYO's Board of Directors, and giving back to an organization that gave me so much.

All students deserve the same opportunity to explore symphonic music that I had growing up. Today, the Louisville Youth Orchestra not only continues to offer extraordinary musical experiences, but also provides elementary string education where it's not available, removes barriers through need-based scholarships, and helps with transportation to and from rehearsals. We also have multiple ensembles with exceptional artistic leadership (check out our incredible staff at lyo.org!).  There is space for students of all skill levels, whether they are just starting their musical journey or are ready to play alongside professional musicians. It's a joy to listen to and see what these young musicians can accomplish.
