Shekinah Lavalle for LHOME

I've worked at LHOME for the last 4 1/2 years. We are a non-profit Community Development Financial Institution, or CDFI. CDFIs were created in part to combat the effects of redlining in the US. CDFIs target certain demographics to build wealth within under-resourced communities.

At LHOME, we invest in businesses of all kinds, but especially Black Owned Businesses. We also focus on keeping folks in their homes with competitive Property Tax Assistance and Home Repair Loans. We offer financial coaching, and we walk folks through the application process. 

LHOME provides much needed services all over Louisville, but with an eye to the South and West ends and Black/African American customers. I love what we do for Louisville and I'd love to bring in some donations for us on the biggest giving day of the year.
