Will and September Morgan's BLOC Fundraiser

BLOC Ministries was started in 1998 by Dwight and Stephanie Young who stepped out on faith with five young children to start a ministry in an underserved urban community in Cincinnati. Since then, BLOC Cincinnati has more than 20 programs, around 40 staff and between 100-150 volunteers weekly. Programs range from Equine therapy to ministries for sex trafficked women, afterschool programs, performance sports center, teaching kitchens, a food pantry all primarily located in the Price Hill Community.

It has been placed on our hearts to expand beyond this area and are working on a location outside of Cincinnati. This includes the west end of Louisville, Kentucky. This location will utilize programs already successfully developed by BLOC Cincinnati. These include an afterschool program, teaching kitchen, sports performance gym and a day shelter for trafficked women.

Some of this is personal for Will. His mom Joan Morgan spent years inside BLOC Cincinnati working hands-on in a number of the ministries, and she is the one leading the Louisville effort now. Watching her do this work is a big part of why we are here. She lives in the neighborhoods she serves because you know a community differently when it is your own front porch too. She is bringing that to the west end, and we cannot wait to see what it looks like here.

Our first building needs substantial renovations but is a great building in an awesome location. We need many things to get this building and these programs working for the neighborhood.
