My Cabbage Patch Story...

Hi! My name is Jarvaun and I have worked at The Cabbage Patch since April of 2023 as the Graphic Design & Videography Specialist. The work of The Cabbage Patch is meaningful to me because I get to have a part in spreading the word about the hard work that happens each day behind the walls through publications, emails, videos, photos, our website, and more.

As part of Give for Good Louisville, we are having a staff challenge to fundraise $5,000 to support programs for children, youth, and families in Louisville. Please help me reach my goal to raise $300 to reach our goal!

About The Cabbage Patch

The Cabbage Patch is a local nonprofit empowering children, youth, and families to reach their full potential since 1910. "The Patch," as it's affectionately known, is named after the section of Old Louisville where it was founded by Louise Marshall, a determined young woman who dedicated her life to its service.

Our mission is a local nonprofit building long-term relationships that empower young people and their families to reach their full potential. Since 1910, we have provided holistic academic, recreational, and mentoring opportunities grounded in Christ-centered values. We also strive to establish deep relationships and promote family stability.

Today, The Patch:

  • Provides after-school educational and recreational programming to Louisville youth (ages 8-18).
  • Serves 40+ graduated members through the College Scholars Program, providing guidance and financial support to students pursuing higher education or a trade.
  • Supports families with immediate assistance and long-term case management services, as needed.
  • Removes barriers to build a sense of community, purpose, and belonging for people who need it most.
  • If you'd like to visit us, please let me know and I can get a tour scheduled for you :)
