The Louisville Folk School has been an important part of my life for the past 8 or 9 years. Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year gave me the incentive to spread the word and help raise money that will support many more programs, classes, concerts, and maybe even a new home for the growing LFS community.

A little bit about the Louisville Folk School.....

- Louisville Folk School's mission is to engage Kentuckians in their folk music traditions through education and performance while building community through the arts.
- Classes are usually 8 weeks long, ending with a fun and informal gathering of students sharing what was learned during their session.
- Many levels of instruction are taught,  from complete beginner to intermediate and advanced.
- Lots of folk instruments to choose from, including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, uke, dulcimer, African drumming, singing and ensemble classes.
- A welcoming community of people of all ages wanting to enrich their lives through music and learning something new.

“Give for Good” a day of giving sponsored by the Community Foundation of Louisville will happen on September 12th this year. I am celebrating my 70th birthday on September 17th. Won’t you join me by giving the gift of music to the Louisville Folk School through my link.  A $70 contribution would be wonderful, in honor of my birthday, but honestly, ANY amount, more or less than that would be so appreciated!  By contributing to this fundraiser, you are helping to create a more inclusive, vibrant community where music is accessible to all.
Thank you for your support and being part of this incredible community!

With gratitude,

Linda Klein
