Safe Haven Family Support, the nonprofit arm of Safe Haven Family Resource Center, is proud to announce the expansion of our mission to include Child Placing Services. By becoming a licensed Child Placing Agency, Safe Haven will be able to recruit, train, license, and support foster families who can provide safe, nurturing, and healing homes for children in need.

Every day, children in our community are entering foster care due to abuse, neglect, or family crisis. These children deserve stability, love, and guidance. They deserve a safe place to call home and the opportunity to thrive. Safe Haven is stepping up to meet that need by creating a network of foster families who are supported every step of the way.

Why This Matters

The foster care system is overwhelmed, and many children are left without consistent caregivers. Safe Haven’s approach ensures that foster families are well-prepared, trauma-informed, and supported so that children not only find safety but also healing and hope.

With your help, Safe Haven will:

• Recruit and license 10–15 foster homes in Jefferson County and surrounding communities.

• Train foster parents in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and family engagement practices.

• Provide monthly supervision, crisis response, and wraparound support to foster families.

• Offer children access to therapy, case management, and community-based supports to promote stability and resilience.

Our Goal

We are raising $25,000 to launch Safe Haven’s Child Placing Services. These funds will ensure that children in our care are placed in safe homes and that foster families receive the tools they need to succeed.

How your support will be used:

• $5,000 – Foster parent recruitment and training materials

• $7,500 – Background checks, home studies, and licensing expenses

• $7,500 – Emergency support and crisis response for foster families

• $5,000 – Ongoing supervision, training, and wraparound services

• $50 provides training materials for one foster parent.

• $150 covers the cost of a background check and home study resources.

• $500 supports one foster family through their licensing process.

• $1,000 sponsors a foster family, providing ongoing support as they care for children with high needs.
