Our Personal Wigglewow Story

When Dani became an employee at Wigglewow, I hoped she would find a place where she could work, learn new skills and feel included. What she found was so much more.

As an adult with special needs, meaningful employment opportunities can be difficult to find. At Wigglewow, Dani is not defined by her disability. She is recognized for her abilities, her personality and everything she contributes as an Epic Chef.

Through her work at The Doghouse, Dani has gained confidence, independence and a genuine sense of pride. She has learned new job skills, become a talented treat decorator and grown more comfortable communicating and working with others. The confidence she has developed at Wigglewow does not end when her workday is over—it carries into every area of her life.

Wigglewow has also changed my life in ways I never expected.

I now have the privilege of serving as the Floor Manager at The Doghouse, where I work alongside Dani and the other incredible adults with special needs who make up our team. Together, we do much more than make yummy dog treats. We teach job skills, develop strategies and provide tools that help each Epic Chef become more confident, independent and comfortable socializing in the workplace.

Every Epic Chef learns differently. Part of my role is discovering what works best for each person, encouraging them through challenges and celebrating every accomplishment—whether it is mastering a new task, completing an order independently, communicating with a coworker or simply believing in themselves.

For me, Wigglewow has become a place of purpose. I get to support adults with special needs while watching my own daughter grow into a confident and valued employee. Dani and I have both found community, belonging and purpose inside The Doghouse.

Yes, we make gourmet dog treats—but what happens at Wigglewow is so much bigger. We are creating employment opportunities, building independence and showing our community what adults with special needs can accomplish when they are given the right tools, encouragement and opportunity.
