40 People. One Day. More Paths Home.

St. John Center is celebrating 40 years of incredible work in our community. To honor those 40 years, I’m looking for 40 people who believe everyone deserves a place to call home.

St. John Center has been doing this work for 40 years. I’ve been lucky enough to serve on its board for three of them – and even luckier that I have three more to go.

I serve because I’ve seen how seriously this organization takes both dignity and outcomes. The work isn’t simply about helping someone through a difficult day. It’s about helping people address the barriers standing between homelessness and a home – and staying alongside them throughout that process.

Last year, 253 people working with St. John Center’s Day Shelter or Street Outreach moved home. And 98% of the people in its Permanent Supportive Housing program maintained their housing for at least a year.

Those numbers represent real people who sought help, found hope and moved home.

On September 10, Louisville will come together for Give for Good Louisville. My goal is to bring 40 people from my own community into this work – one donor for every year St. John Center has served Louisville.

Your gift doesn’t have to be large. Ten dollars, twenty dollars or whatever feels comfortable makes you one of my 40 – and every individual donor may also help St. John Center compete for an additional $1,000 prize.
