Hard times happen and we should help!

Hi, I’m David, and I’m proud to support Highlands Community Ministries. My husband works at HCM, and through him I’ve gotten to see how much care, time, and heart the team puts into helping our neighbors.

I’m giving because hard times can happen to anyone. Everyone deserves to have food on the table, help when they need it, and people in their corner. HCM provides practical support while treating every person with kindness and respect.

I’m grateful for the work HCM does for Louisville, and I hope you’ll consider joining me in supporting them during Give for Good Louisville. Every donation helps them continue being there for our community.

We Are the Safety Net

When larger systems fall short, neighbors step forward.

Across Louisville, more of our neighbors are facing impossible choices. Older adults are waiting for meals. Families are struggling to keep up with rent, utilities, and groceries. Public support is becoming less certain at the very moment local need is growing.

At Highlands Community Ministries, we believe a safety net is not just a program or a policy. It is people.

It is the volunteer delivering meals to an older adult who lives alone. It is the donor who helps a family stay housed after an unexpected crisis. It is the neighbor who makes sure the pantry shelves are stocked. It is the community that says, “You are not alone.”

This Give for Good Louisville, HCM is raising $45,000 to respond where the need is greatest. Your gift may help provide meals for older adults, groceries for families, help with rent or utilities, or care for a neighbor who does not know where else to turn.

One of the stories guiding us this year is the story of Florence, a 95-year-old neighbor served through Meals on Wheels. For Florence, this program was never just about food. It was about dignity, consistency, relationship, and being known by name. Her story reminds us that no neighbor should disappear into a waiting list, a budget cut, or a system that has grown too thin to hold them.

The safety net is only strong when we hold it together.

Whether you give $10, $50, $100, or more, your gift helps HCM show up for neighbors who cannot afford to wait.

Give today and be part of the care our neighbors are counting on.

We are the safety net. And you can be, too.
