One of the great things about living in Louisville is seeing how much generosity individuals and businesses have in supporting our local non-profits.
Give for Good Louisville is a great example of how people show up to rally behind so many valuable organizations whose missions aim to improve the lives of those in their communities.
This year, I want to support a new non-profit addressing a gap in our community, one I have gotten more familiar with over the past couple of years: the neurodivergent experience. My wife was diagnosed with ADHD in her 30s, and it was an eye-opening experience for her and us into how our society and systems are not built for all ways of thinking and processing the world. She has been involved in opening Trailhouse, Louisville’s first neurodiversity affirming therapy center. In only two years, they have seen and heard the need for a more affirming approach to therapy and community support. This is why they have launched a new non-profit, Elmgrove Foundation, to support families, educate professionals, remove barriers, and create communities that are responsive to the diverse ways people learn, communicate, connect, and contribute.
It takes all types of brains to make communities and businesses thrive. Help Elmgrove grow something truly unique right here in Louisville, KY!
