Community Perinatal Health Program

The urgent need to address the maternal health crisis has never been more apparent. Within our community, our Mama's face disproportionately higher rates of maternal mortality and morbidity. This crisis is deeply rooted in systemic issues, including inadequate access to quality healthcare, racial bias within medical systems, and socioeconomic disparities. The consequences of this crisis reverberate through families, communities, and future generations, perpetuating cycles of poor health, economic instability, and emotional distress.

The statistics are stark and demand immediate action. Our Mama's are significantly more likely to experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth, leading to tragic and preventable loss of life. These disparities persist irrespective of socioeconomic status, education, or income, highlighting the pervasive nature of the problem. The lack of culturally sensitive care, combined with barriers to accessing prenatal services, exacerbates this crisis and underscores the need for targeted interventions.

Our community perinatal program directly addresses this critical need by providing comprehensive support, resources, and advocacy to mothers during their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journeys. Through education, emotional support, and connection to healthcare resources, our program aims to empower our Mama's with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare and birthing experiences.
