I support Highlands Community Ministries (HCM) because it puts "love your neighbor "into action. I represent the Episcopal Church of the Advent as an HCM advisory committee member. And I am pleased with what I see!
HCM shows up for neighbors who cannot afford to wait. Through a food pantry and emergency utility assistance. Through meals to homebound older adults. Through donors who help a family stay housed after an unexpected crisis. Through neighbors who make sure the pantry shelves are stocked. Through a youth recreation program that relies on parents as coaches. HCM builds community!
I have pledged to raise $600 on Give for Good Day.
Across Louisville, more of our neighbors are facing impossible choices. Older adults are waiting for meals. Families are struggling to keep up with rent, utilities, and groceries. Public support is becoming less certain at the very moment local need is growing.
We Are the Safety Net!
This Give for Good Louisville, HCM is raising $45,000 to respond where the need is greatest. Your gift may help provide meals for older adults, groceries for families, help with rent or utilities, or care for a neighbor who does not know where else to turn.
Consider the story of Florence, a 95-year-old neighbor served through Meals on Wheels. For Florence, this program was never just about food. It was about dignity, consistency, relationship, and being known by name. Her story reminds us that no neighbor should disappear into a waiting list, a budget cut, or a system that disregards the needs of its people.
Whether you give $10, $50, $100, or more, your gift will help.
We are the safety net. And you can be, too!
Thank you!
