Hello!

I am raising funds for an organization close to my heart. Arts Angle prepares high school students (ages 14 to 18) from a range of schools throughout the Louisville metropolitan area  for success by providing them with access to the arts and empowering them to use their voices to create arts journalism that engages the community.

Arts Angle has made great strides this year, the biggest being the launch of The Arts Angle Newsroom in January. During the school year, the newsroom meets twice a week. Participants interview artists, review various art forms and receive mentorship from professionals. They write articles and reviews and have their pieces published for the community to read and share.

YOUR investment makes a big impact!

Every gift matters, no matter the size.

Will you help me reach my goal?

77% of our funding goes to programming, 13% to administrative costs, and 10% to development.

A dedicated team of volunteer adults behind Arts Angle have been collaborating since 2018 to give youth access to the arts and elevate their voices. Even before the pandemic, we offered more than 20 workshops after seeing many young people with deep interests or even curiosity about the arts had limited access or knowledge about art in their own communities, and few outlets, if any, did the kind of work we aspired to: uplifting young people and the arts through the power of clear and captivating communication using journalistic principles.

Following pandemic isolation, we offered more workshops focusing on the arts, a  meaningful conduit for exploring complex ideas, encountering different perspectives, and building confidence in voice. One participant reflected,  “Not only did it help me become a better writer, it helped me become a better person."

I was so lucky growing up: I got to see dance and theater, hear live music, visit museums, and receive a strong education in writing. Art was an empowering part of my young life, and I was able to integrate it into a career as a journalist. I also got he chance to report on and work with young people, which was always rewarding. Arts Angle allows me to share something I was fortunate to have.

Thank you so much,

Elizabeth Kramer, Director
