Hey! Doula K here! I’m fundraising for Granny’s Birth Initiative because I believe every family deserves dignity, care, and access to essential resources during one of life’s most vulnerable moments—childbirth. Each week, more than 25 families visit our Maternity Pantry, a lifeline that provides diapers, wipes, clothing, formula, and more. These are not luxuries—they’re necessities.
Granny’s Birth Initiative is on the front lines of the Black maternal and infant health crisis, serving birthing people who have experienced incarceration, homelessness, or foster care, with a strong focus on BIPOC communities. Through innovative programs like Doula Dash, which provides transportation to maternal health appointments, and Doula Tech, which trains doulas as community health workers, we’re working to close gaps in care and improve birth outcomes across Kentucky.
This Give for Good Day, we’re raising $25,000 to sustain and expand our impact. Your donation helps stock our pantry, fund safe donor breast milk (which costs $4.25 per ounce), and support new initiatives like postpartum meal trains and sibling care during appointments. Every dollar helps us say “yes” when a family asks for help.
Join me in supporting this powerful work. Together, we can birth Kentucky better.
