Anthony's Give for Good Campaign for St. MAM

Although I don't live in the area St. Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM) serves, I became acquainted with the organization through food donations at one of their partner churches. I had been looking for a way to give more of my time, and after meeting the staff and going through volunteer orientation, I was hooked.

Having recently bought my first truck, I was asked if I could help with food pickups from a local grocery store that regularly donates food to St. MAM. So, just about every Friday morning, I help pick up and move anywhere from 500 to 1,000 pounds of donated food that might otherwise spoil and end up in the garbage.

That food helps stock the pantry at St. MAM, and what they can't use is shared with Feed Louisville and other local food pantries. I love knowing that food that might otherwise go to waste is instead helping families in our community.

Along the way, I asked if there were any particular items they were always in need of. The answer: dryer sheets, laundry pods…and SPAM.

Those of you who know me—and know my history with SPAM—will understand why I immediately knew I had found my calling.

And so…I am now the SPAM Man.

I've also had the opportunity to work alongside some of St. MAM's great volunteers doing maintenance and other projects around the pantry, which has been incredibly rewarding.

What has impressed me most about St. MAM is the people. They have an AMAZING group of volunteers who give so much of their time to a great cause. I've been equally impressed by the staff, how much they genuinely care about the people they serve, and how far they're able to stretch their limited resources.

If you're considering a donation, PLEASE pay attention to when you give! Your timing could help St. MAM win additional prize money.

SEPTEMBER 10 — TWO IMPORTANT TIMES

Donations at ANY TIME on September 10 are very much appreciated, but St. MAM is especially targeting these two time periods:

** Each donation must be from a unique IP within the same household, use WiFi and Cell for multiple donations **

🕐 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM — “The Afternoon Drive”

Organizations with the most qualifying online donations during this period have a chance to receive an additional $1,000!

⭐ 7:15 PM – 7:17 PM — “The Greatest Two Minutes in Giving”

For just TWO MINUTES, six donors will be randomly selected, with their chosen nonprofits receiving prizes ranging from $5,000 to $20,000!

YES—your donation during those two minutes could potentially mean as much as $20,000 for St. MAM!

And you don't need to make a huge donation to help. A qualifying Give for Good donation can be as little as $5.

Whether it's $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 or more, every donor and every dollar helps.
