Our community has been under attack every single day this year.
Trusted, independent news has never been more vital — and Queer Kentucky is the only LGBTQ+ newsroom in the state. Too often, if we don’t cover it, nobody does. And with the Kentucky General Assembly approaching, we are raising vital funding to support the work by award-winning civics reporter Olivia Krauth, who brings trusted, on-the-ground reporting from Frankfort directly to our community.
This Give For Good Louisville, your donation keeps our community informed, healthy, and safe — and every dollar will be matched up to $6,000!
Our baseline goal of $5,000 ensures consistent coverage (at least 3 articles a month) during Kentucky's legislative session, the creation and maintenance of our daily bill tracker, and social media coverage. But the truth is, the need is bigger:
$7,200 adds more preview stories and deeper session coverage, guaranteeing at least one political story a week..
$8,400 lets us cover post-session elections too.
$10,000 nearly covers retainer fees and 30 stories across previews, session, and primaries.
And with a dream goal of $20,000, we could fund civic reporting all the way through the 2026 elections, including live coverage, videos, and explainers.
