Louisville has French roots right in its name and since 1914, the Alliance Française de Louisville has been helping keep that connection alive.

This Give for Good Louisville, your gift to AFL does more than support a French language school and cultural center. It creates opportunities for people across our community to learn another language, experience French and Francophone cultures, build friendships, and find a home for French right here in Louisville.

Your support helps us keep French affordable and thriving. Donations allow AFL to offer engaging cultural programming, hire and retain talented instructors, expand our French-language library, improve classroom technology, and provide events that are free and open to the greater Louisville community.

We’re also looking toward the next generation. AFL is exploring scholarship opportunities for local high school and university students that would help cover French class tuition and textbooks, making it easier for young learners to continue their French-language journey regardless of financial circumstances.

Whether someone is taking their very first French class, joining a conversation group, attending a wine tasting, discovering a Francophone culture, or simply looking for a community where they can speak French, we want AFL to be a place where they belong.
