Give for Good to Alliance Française de Louisville!

Join me in supporting the Alliance Française de Louisville!

Being part of this organization is truly a passion of mine. I grew up with a French grandmother who only ever spoke French to her children and grandchildren (and American husband for that matter!). She would often bring us along to events hosted by the Alliance Française in Rochester, NY back in the 1980s and early '90s. It was a way for her to enjoy a little French atmosphere in her adopted country. In 2019, I decided that it was time to get my own daughter to start learning French, and, to my great delight I found that there was an Alliance right here in Louisville! She has been enrolled in Les Petits Amis classes ever since. I also started attending various events like Speaker Series, wine tastings, conversation groups, etc. It has been amazing to meet so many new people with shared interests in French language and francophone cultures. I've truly become reconnected with memories of my grandmother and our family's history and culture while expanding my local circle of friends and learning so much about other French and francophone communities around the world - and right here in our little metropolitan region. 

This is my third year as a Board Member and my second as President of the AFL. I can only hope that I have made a fraction of the positive impact on this organization that it has made on me in the last several years.

On this Give for Good Day, please help me show the AFL how special a non-profit organization they truly are. 

You can also become a member and join us for classes or those fun events I mentioned! If you're not local to Louisville, just look for an Alliance Française near you - there are over 100 chapters in the USA alone!
