The first Kentucky Dance Festival welcomed 41 participating groups from seven states.

That told us something important: artists are looking for a place to perform without leaving the region, students want meaningful ways to connect with the wider dance community, and audiences are hungry for bold, original work that feels welcoming rather than exclusive.
