Who We Are

A Fund, Inc. is a 501c3 org directed and staffed entirely by volunteers who raise money to help Kentucky girls, women, and non-binary individuals pay for abortion and contraception.

Mission

A Fund, Inc.’s mission is to ensure that everyone has access to abortion and contraception, regardless of their economic circumstances. 

What We Do

Since 1993, A Fund has provided financial support to thousands of Kentucky patients seeking abortion and contraception. In 2023, A Fund expanded this support to include people in neighboring states. 

Now that there is an abortion ban in Kentucky, local patients are traveling out-of-state for care. A Fund partners with clinics in nearby states to ensure that funding is readily available for patients in need. Travel increases out-of-pocket costs, making abortion even less accessible. To address this, A Fund works closely with partner organizations to cover travel expenses in addition to abortion costs.

Here in Kentucky, A Fund focuses on how it can increase access to contraception. A Fund provides long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) to local clinics and also works with local partners to provide free emergency contraception (Plan B). This year, A Fund is piloting a project to provide Opill, the over-the-counter birth control pill, to patients in eastern Kentucky.
