For me, Bernheim Forest has always been a place of refuge. It's a place to step away from the hustle and bustle of Louisville and reconnect with nature. Just a short drive from the city, it feels like a world apart, where the quiet of the trees and the beauty of the landscape offer the type of reset that I treasure.

As a parent, Bernheim holds an even deeper meaning. My children absolutely love the Playcosystem—a one-of-a-kind, safe, and imaginative free-play environment where they can explore, create, and just be kids. Watching my son as a toddler proudly clap for the wood pieces he stacked or seeing my daughter’s courage on the rope swing the first time are moments I won't forget. I’m inspired by the way Bernheim continues to expand and enhance the Playcosystem, ensuring it’s welcoming and engaging for everyone.

Beyond being a wonderful place for families, Bernheim is a resource for our community. Its 16,000 acres provide space for environmental learning, conservation, art, and the kind of outdoor experiences that spark creativity and foster a love for the natural world.
