Supporting 1801 Together

Louisville Outreach for the Unsheltered (L.O.U.) is proud to launch “Supporting 1801 Together”, our Give for Good fundraiser focused on sustaining and expanding the impact of the 1801 Portland Avenue Resource Center. This innovative hub is designed to meet people where they are, bringing essential services—medical care, housing assessments, harm reduction programs, and even laundry facilities—directly to Louisville’s West End. It’s more than a building; it’s a lifeline for unsheltered neighbors seeking dignity, stability, and support.

At 1801, every detail is intentional. A small medical clinic allows for wound care, HIV testing, and medication storage, while private offices create space for meaningful conversations with case managers and service providers. Laundry services give clients a chance to maintain hygiene and reclaim a sense of normalcy, while also encouraging repeat visits that build trust and relationships. The center’s rotating schedule of providers—from the VA to Solution’s Health—ensures that critical services are accessible, integrated, and aligned with L.O.U.’s philosophy of relational outreach and harm reduction.

This fundraiser is about more than dollars; it’s about community coming together to empower people who are often invisible.
