The Bensing Family

Small class sizes, no screens, and a real love of reading are some of the reasons we love LCA. This year, Sebastian (2nd grade) is reading chapter books. His teacher says it can be a struggle to keep his nose out of whatever book he's currently reading. He's working his way through The Magic Treehouse series, and just finished The Boxcar Children. He also loves Art and PE, and is working really hard to not lose all his "blurt bucks" before lunch! Alma (4th grade) is learning to speak Latin, has beautiful cursive handwriting, is studying Greek Mythology, Ancient Rome, and the Vikings, reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and looking forward to The Call of the Wild. She is also learning to crochet and Fencing! Oliver (6th grade) is on the soccer team (and even enjoys it, no matter what he says!), is looking forward to reading The Diary of Anne Frank, and Tarzan of the Apes, is learning about the Middle Ages, reading and discussing Genesis, learning to speak Latin, refining his cursive handwriting, and will learn the hand chimes and bells in music class. 

Help the kid's classes win an ice cream party, based on how many families give and how many start a page like this one. A ten dollar gift helps as much as a larger one! And if the school reaches its goal, our Head of School, Mr. Markowitz, takes a pie to the face, thrown by the student whose page brings in the most gifts. The Bensing kids would love your help making both of those happen!

Every gift made to LCA for Give for Good Louisville on September 10th is matched dollar for dollar by the school's board, up to $7,000 in all, so your gift counts twice.
