Nicole's Fundraiser: Home is Here

At Wednesday’s Child, we believe every child deserves to know that Home Is Here - right here in Louisville, within families ready to open their hearts.

We work every day to change the lives and futures of older foster youth. We celebrate big milestones like graduations. We invite youth still waiting for adoption to a Holiday Party where they receive gifts from their wish lists. We host a statewide conference to recruit more foster parents. And we provide funds for enriching experiences like summer camp or music lessons - opportunities that help children grow, explore, and believe in their own potential.

And after hearing stories like Estefani’s, our passion grows even stronger. At the Holiday Party, Estefani shared the news of her upcoming adoption.

“It’s really exciting knowing that a family wants me for who I am.”

In that moment, she felt seen and heard. She felt like Home Is Here. Her story is powerful, but it is not unique. Many foster children just like Estefani are still waiting, hoping, longing for a family to call their own. That is why Wednesday’s Child exists.

And there is so much more we can do together.
