Give for Good Louisville day is this Thursday, September 10, and I hope you'll consider supporting Jack, Addison, and Sullivan's school, Louisville Classical Academy. Click the link above to donate to LCA.

On Thursday evening, the Greatest Two Minutes in Giving runs from 7:15 to 7:17 p.m. Every gift placed in those two minutes is an entry in six prize drawings of $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000. Fill out the form a few minutes early so your gift lands inside the window.

Help Jack, Addison, and Sullivan’s class win an ice cream party, based on how many families give and how many start a page like this one. A ten dollar gift helps as much as a larger one! And if the school reaches its goal, our Head of School, Mr. Markowitz, takes a pie to the face, thrown by the student whose page brings in the most gifts. Jack, Addison, and Sullivan would love your help making both of those happen!

Small class sizes, no screens, and a real love of reading are some of the reasons we love LCA. 

Every gift made to LCA for Give for Good Louisville on September 10th is matched dollar for dollar by the school's board, up to $7,000 in all, so your gift counts twice.

Any amount helps and it would mean a lot to our family!

What Your Gift Covers

Gifts to LCA through Give for Good go to the school's operating fund, which pays for everything below. These are real costs from this year's budget, so you can see what a gift of any size does for a student.

• $5 covers a beginning reader that a first grader takes home and keeps.
• $35 covers one student's field trips for the whole year. LCA pays every trip cost, and families are never billed.
• $100 covers the supplies for the 8th grade's fall chemistry experiments.
• $500 covers the whole-school Thanksgiving feast.
• $1,000 covers a teacher's stipend to run an after-school course for a semester.

Every gift of $5 or more counts as a donation to LCA on Give for Good Louisville, whatever its size.
