One Connection = Lasting Impact 💚

My journey with the Marnel C. Moorman Family Life Center started with a simple connection.

In 2024, while running a summer program through my role with Kentucky State University, I met the son of the Family Life Center’s director. At the close of that program, I was invited to visit the Center and talk about ways we could collaborate to bring additional programming and opportunities to the young people they served.

That conversation turned into action.

I began providing cooking and gardening programming at the Family Life Center, and what started as a professional partnership quickly became something much more meaningful to me. I saw the relationships being built, the opportunities being created for young people, and the genuine commitment to serving children and families in our community.

Eventually, I was asked to join the Board of Directors—and, as they say, the rest is history.

Today, the Marnel C. Moorman Family Life Center is more than an organization I partner with. It is a place and a mission that I have personally invested in because I believe in what happens when we intentionally pour into young people, strengthen families, and create spaces where our community can grow together.
