To keep this vital work strong, we’re raising funds needed to sustain and grow our programs—tutoring and homework help, enrichment activities, and intergenerational experiences that connect youth, parents, and seniors.

The Marnel C. Moorman Family Life Center is a vibrant hub for growth, learning, and community connection. Founded with the belief that every person deserves a safe and welcoming place to be seen, heard, and nurtured, the Center exists to empower children, youth, and families to thrive—spiritually, socially, physically, and economically.

Operating as an outreach arm of Clay Street Baptist Church, the Family Life Center provides year-round programs that foster both education and personal development. Our signature afterschool program offers students academic support, tutoring, and mentorship while exposing them to opportunities that spark their creativity and reveal their God-given talents. Each summer, our six-week program blends morning literacy sessions with afternoon recreation, Friday field trips, and a capstone week of environmental education Discovery Days. 

The Center also serves as a gathering place for the wider community—hosting workshops, family events, and celebrations that build relationships across generations. We are committed to creating an inclusive space where parents feel confident their children are safe and supported, and where neighbors can discover resources that strengthen families and uplift our entire area.

We are committed to the spiritual, social, physical, and economic development of individuals in this community. Our vision is to foster a safe place where youth can socialize and discover their God-given talents in a non-threatening environment. We believe robust education, exposure to new opportunities, and holistic empowerment is the best pathway to positively impact the lives of the members of our community, especially the next generation.
