The Marnel C. Moorman Family Life Center is a vibrant hub for community engagement, youth development, and intergenerational connection in Shelbyville. We believe everyone deserves a safe, welcoming place where they can connect with others, discover their gifts, develop their potential, and confidently move toward their next opportunity.

Our work is about more than providing programs. It is about creating opportunities that help people see what is possible—and giving them the support, exposure, and experiences to pursue it.

Programs:

Afterschool Crew - Serving youth Monday-Friday afterschool. Students have opportunities to complete homework, receive tutoring and individualized support, read, participate in enrichment activities, build relationships with peers and caring adults, and simply enjoy being a kid. The program provides structure while also giving students space to explore their interests, develop confidence, and build positive relationships. Dinner is served each evening.

Rooted & Rising Summer Program - 6 week Summer Enrichment Program. Students strengthen skills, discover new interests, build confidence, and develop meaningful relationships with peers and caring adults. The program is intentionally designed to give scholars opportunities to be both rooted in who they are and rising toward who they can become.

Family & Community Connections - Strong communities are built through meaningful relationships. Our Family and Community Connections brings together children, families, neighbors, volunteers, and community partners to create opportunities for learning, service, and belonging.

Senior Programming - Older adults are an essential part of our community. Through meaningful connections, engaging experiences, and opportunities to share their wisdom and talents, our senior programming helps older adults remain active, connected, and valued.

Youth Workforces Development - Every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, explore possibilities, and prepare for their future. Future Ready equips youth with skills, experiences, and confidence needed to navigate life beyond the classroom.
