WHY ACTORS THEATRE MATTERS TO ME

Hello Friends,

As you may know I have been working at Actors Theatre since 1997.  During that time, I have had wonderful experiences with an amazing set of talented people.  From my early days in lighting to leading and facilitating all production areas and now also to help support the facilities; I have loved being serving the Greater Louisville community.  Maybe I have crossed your path because you worked on a production we shared with the community of Louisville.  Maybe I was your boss for a time (sorry).  Or maybe we know each other from other parts of our lives.  Would you consider giving to a place I have called home for nearly 30 years?

At Actors we have participated in our community by creating family traditions, sharing impactful world premieres, and reimagined classics.  If you can, would you consider giving a donation of whatever works for you 1.to celebrate our time together and 2.to continue the ability for our community to have that same resource for the future.  If you know me, I dont frequently ask for things like this.  But the time to show your support is impactful to others to have similar experiences in the future.  Giving is matched so even a few dollars will get doubled to have even more impact!

JOIN ME

This Give for Good Louisville, I’m asking you to join me in supporting Actors Theatre. Every gift helps keep live theatre thriving in our community and creates more opportunities for people to experience the connection, joy, and belonging that the arts provide.

WHY GIVE TO ACTORS THEATRE?

  • Regular participation in cultural events is associated with a 32% lower risk of depression.
  • Engaging with the arts just a few times a year is associated with a 14% lower risk of premature death.
  • The arts give us a place to gather. Chronic loneliness can have a significant impact on our health — the U.S. Surgeon General compares its effects to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR:

When you invest in the arts you’re creating a healthier, happier Louisville.
