My Campaign Supporting Water By Women

Help Bring Safe Water to Families in Venezuela

Clean water shouldn't be complicated. And in a disaster, it shouldn't have to wait.

This year, I'm fundraising for Water By Women through Give for Good Louisville to help bring safe drinking water to families recovering from the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

Water By Women does things differently. We believe the most powerful resource in any community isn't a pipeline or a permit — it's the women already living there.

Since 2008, Water By Women has equipped more than 235,000 women in 48 countries with simple, affordable water filters and the training to use them. We believe in solutions that put practical tools directly into people's hands — solutions that can keep working long after a traditional emergency response has ended.

This year, that mission has taken us to Venezuela.

A Response to an Urgent Need

On June 24, 2026, twin earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread damage and displacing thousands of families. In La Guaira, local relief teams are working neighborhood by neighborhood to reach survivors as communities begin the difficult process of recovery.

One of the most urgent needs is safe drinking water.

Water By Women is already responding. Our team is on the ground, working in partnership with local relief efforts to distribute portable water filters to families and emergency shelters affected by the disaster.

This is a local response built around trusted local partners — getting an effective, sustainable water solution directly to people who need it most.

Why Filters?

Bottled water can be an important part of an emergency response, but it is expensive to transport and quickly runs out.

A portable water filter offers something different: a tool that lasts.

Families can use filters to safely access available water sources throughout the emergency and for years afterward. It's not just relief for today; it's a tool for the whole recovery ahead.
