Growing up in Louisville, the Kentucky Science Center was more than just a museum to me—it was a place of wonder, curiosity, and inspiration. I spent many hours exploring its exhibits, fascinated by the hands-on experiences that made science feel alive and accessible. Those early visits sparked a lifelong passion for discovery and ultimately shaped my future.
As an undergraduate at the University of Louisville, I had the opportunity to return to the Science Center—not just as a visitor, but as an employee and educator. Sharing my love of science with young learners in the very place that first inspired me was deeply meaningful and reaffirmed my commitment to making science engaging and inclusive. That journey led me to pursue a career in chemistry, and today, I’m honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at the Kentucky Science Center. It’s a full-circle moment that reflects how early science education can ignite curiosity and empower the next generation to "Do Science".
This year on September 10, I'm excited to be participating in Give for Good Louisville to raise funds for Kentucky Science Center's Annual Fund for Science.
I'm aiming to raise $1000 to support Kentucky Science Center's overall goal of $25,000.
Funds raised will support our Annual Fund for Science, providing ongoing support for education programs and initiatives including:
- $500 supports Pulse of Surgery for a class of 25 students.
- $300 takes one Science Expo to children’s and families’ neighborhoods.
- $139 supports one family with a Community Access Membership.
- $21 supports one student's field trip admission to our Flagship Facility.
Your gift will help provide people with hands-on experiences that demonstrate the relevance of STEAM in everyday life.
Thank you for considering a donation to support Kentucky Science Center on September 10. Your generosity is helping to ensure a future where science is accessible, exciting, and engaging for everyone!
