For the past 9 years, the International Cup has been held together by grit, passion, and the commitment of volunteers. With no outside funding, our community created something extraordinary: a space where young people from immigrant and refugee families could step onto the field, forget their struggles for a moment, and simply play.
This year, we are dreaming bigger than ever. We want to welcome:
40+ teams from across 20+ states
Over 2,000 youth, families, and community members
Live entertainment and cultural showcases that honor the stories and identities of our players
But the Cup is more than a tournament. For many of our young people, this is the only time they feel truly seen and celebrated. These are children and teens who often carry the invisible weight of displacement, poverty, and trauma. They navigate daily barriers—language, access to opportunities, the ache of feeling out of place. On this field, those barriers dissolve. They play with pride. They stand tall in front of their families. They remind themselves that they belong.
This year, we are taking historic steps forward:
Expanding with U10 and U18 divisions so younger and older youth can compete
Launching our first-ever girls’ games to give immigrant and refugee girls the same chance to lead, shine, and celebrate their strength
Building a full community experience with music, culture, and storytelling that goes beyond sport and into healing
To make this vision real, we need to raise $80,000. These funds will cover:
Safe fields, referees, and insurance so every game is protected
Transportation, lodging, and meals so no child is left out because of money
Dedicated support to launch the girls’ division and make equity visible on the field
Community programs that bring families together in pride, joy, and belonging
