This year, StageOne Family Theatre proudly celebrates a historic milestone-- and two incredible legacies: StageOne’s 80 years of inspiring young people and their families, and Walden Conservatory’s 50 years of training the next generation of artists and leaders.

In 2024, StageOne Family Theatre and Walden Conservatory merged as one organization united around a shared mission of providing stages and classrooms where confidence is built, voices are discovered, relationships are forged and futures take flight. This was a strategic move made to ensure the long term sustainability of children's theatre education in our community-- at a time in our history where these human experiences are more important than ever.

Our programming reaches children in our community in three ways:

1. Theatre camps and Walden Conservatory classes on our campus that build confidence and communication skills, forge lifelong friendships and cultivate a love of the arts

2. Mainstage performances at The Kentucky Center-- both field trip matinees and public performances-- that are the first exciting live theatre experience for many children

3. Innovative in-school/community programming and residencies that use theatre education techniques to increase classroom engagement, boost educational performance across all subject areas and improve social communication skills. We work with public schools, other nonprofits and community organizations to bring these opportunities out into the community to children who need them most.
